Scouting Outing, Hiking the Florida National Scenic Trail in the Green Swamp Preserve, 530 AM, Monday March 4, 2004
Please join us for an early morning hike to Scout a section from SR 471 to Rock Ridge Road. We are hoping to find suitable segments for a our next multi day backpacking trip.
Just love the mystery of the trail!
What: A fun early morning 10 mile hike of the Florida National Scenic Trail in the Green Swamp Preserve. We hope to be quiet and see some interesting wildlife!
Purpose: Find a multi day backpacking trip and wildlife viewing.
Where: Meet at 530 AM at Dunkin Donuts on US Hwy 98 on the north side of Lakeland. If we have more than one car we may do a shuttle leaving cars ar the Rock Ridge Trailhead and then driving to the McNeil entrance on SR 471 near Colt Creek State Park.
Bring: Water bottle, binoculars, snacks, sunscreen and insect repellant. Consider $5 Donation members, $10 nonmembers.
Michiel….my suggestion is to wait for a regular outing (not a scouting outing) because this one will be fast paced, some of it in the dark….we are just scouting……but I am glad you are interested AB
